FAMILY FAVOURITES
FOR A VALUE-FILLED SUMMER OF FUN
WITH KIDS IN THE PARK SCHOOL HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES
AT SYDNEY OLYMPIC PARK
Finding good-value entertainment to fill almost
fifty days of the school holiday break will be a cinch this summer, with more than
fifty family-friendly, boredom-busting activities featured in Sydney’s biggest
school holiday program, Kids in the Park!
From Kids
in the Park
familiar favourites such as Flying Trapeze, Cookies and
Craft
, Clue Trails and Segway Fun Tours, to annual attractions
including FREE Kids’ Day at the Apia
International Sydney Tennis Tournament
, the FREE Movies by the Boulevard outdoor cinema series and FREE Australia Day celebrations at
beautiful Bicentennial Park, Kids in the
Park
summer 2011-12 will operate at Sydney Olympic Park EVERY DAY of the
school holidays.
One of NEW activities to feature in the Kids in the Park line-up this summer is
a FREE Designing Your Future Portfolio
Workshop
. To be held on 11 and 18 January and ideal for teens who are
considering enrolling in a tertiary art or design course, the three-hour
workshop will be presented by design professionals who will teach participants
mounting and presentation techniques to create a professional portfolio of work.
From creative-minds to footy fans, Kids in the Park will also debut a NEW Rugby League Clinic this summer that is
sure to thrill on 18 January. Kicking-off at 9am, the FREE clinic will give kids aged 6-12 the chance to meet leading NRL
players who will share their expert tips and tricks at Wentworth Common, Sydney
Olympic Park.
AFL
Clinics
at Wentworth Common are sure to thrill kids and parents
alike this summer and they are also absolutely FREE! Running from 9.30am-10.30am on 16, 19, 23 and 25 January, the
clinics will include fun games and exercises to help boys and girls aged 5-12
progress their skills, get active and make new friends to-boot.
Tomorrow’s tennis stars will have fun of Grand Slam
proportions at the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre from 19-22 December or
23-27 January, when Tennis workshops
will swing into action from 9am-12.30pm. The four-day workshop costs $130 and
will help kids aged 6-16 improve their game as Sydney heats-up for another exciting
summer of tennis.
For a super-fun alternative
to day-care, kids aged 5-16 can attend the Fun
and Adventure Day Camp
at the Sydney Olympic Park Lodge. Designed for
working parents, the camp will operate from 8am-6pm on most days in January for
$68 per day or  $300 for a week of fun
challenges in a safe and supervised environment. With all meals included, kids
can also get active, eat healthy and enjoy two nights and three days of the Fun and Fitness Residential Camp for
$300 per child.
Kids
in the Park
makes Sydney Olympic Park the official home of
the biggest range of school holiday activities of any location in NSW. Unmatched
by any other operating program, Kids in
the Park
is designed to feature something to suit every interest EVERY DAY
of the school holidays. Daily activities in the summer 2011-12 program include FREE Discovery Trails to explore
on-foot, 35 kilometres of FREE Bike
Trails
and for nature-loving families, the FREE Brickpit Ring Walk, which provides a rare glimpse of the
habitat of the endangered Green and Golden Bell Frog.
The Sanitarium
Weet-bix Kids TRYathlon
is also featured in the Kids in the Park summer 2011-12 program, as is, Archery, Soccer, Golf, Skateboarding, Scooter and BMX at Monster, seven different Writing Workshops, Digital Fimmaking, a Kids in
the Park Film Fest
, heaps of water fun at the Aquatic Centre and so much
more that families will be calling for an extension to the school holiday
period!
Kids
in the Park
will operate at various venues within Sydney
Olympic Park from Saturday 17 December 2011 until Sunday 29 January 2012
(inclusive).
