Man of the Week: Liam Hemsworth

A dapper Liam Hemsworth takes the cover of Prestige Hong Kong‘s May issue.
Here’s what the 22-year-old Hunger Games actor had to share with the mag:
On dealing with fame: “I haven’t really changed that much. I still do the things that I’ve always done. It’s just that I’m at a different level now in terms of my career. I’m able to meet extremely talented filmmakers and writers and directors – everyone in the business. I’m just in a different position than I’ve ever been in. But, you know, my personal life hasn’t changed. I still go surfing and hang out with friends. I just feel very lucky to be where I am and to be able to make movies.”
On school: “I left to shoot something for a few weeks and when I returned to school my head just wasn’t there any more. So I left school completely about three-quarters of the way through my last year and I just started laying floors with my eldest brother Luke. I was just auditioning as much as I could and laying floors as well.”
On other Aussie actors: “Heath Ledger was one I was always a big fan of. He was kind of the closest to my age and was just an incredible actor. And obviously guys like Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman – there are just so many talented Australian actors over here. But I think Heath Ledger was my favourite out of all of those and just simply an inspiration.”
So hot we couldn’t decide which images to run with so we used them all. I’m really liking this youngun’s style. Or is it his eyes?

Either way, he’s won me over for sure. *sigh*

Mum of the Week: Hilary Duff

I just really stoked to see a Hollywood mum looking like she’s just had a baby. Yes, she still looks like she is a couple of months pregnant. That’s what new mums look like after they’ve had a baby. Things don’t snap back into shape 20 minutes after your new miracle is placed in your arms.
Her adorable little son Luca is a little over one month old.

We have 4 shows here! Thanks for buying tickets my amazing little monsters, I can’t wait to rock this city.”
Of course she is wearing a purple hair dress. Isn’t that what you wear when travelling on aeroplanes?

The 38-year-old actress accessorised with Jimmy Choo shoes, Bulgari earrings and bracelet, and a Neil Lane ring.
Such an unflattering dress for her! She looks like a curtain! Someone either needs to sack her stylist or FIND a stylist. And she’s normally so perfectly put together too. Shame.

#7. Chloe Moretz

Chloe Moretz strikes a pose outside The Ed Sullivan Theater on Thursday (May 3) in New York City.
The 15-year-old actress, wearing a Christopher Kane dress with Jimmy Choo heels, made an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.

#4. Kelly Osbourne

#3. Dita Von Teese

Dita Von Teese rocks a Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture dress at the 2012 Duftstars Awards held at Tempodrom on Friday (May 4) in Berlin, Germany.
“Hmmmm…Wearing quite a risqué @JPGaultier gown tonight to the perfume awards in Berlin. This might require a merkin,” the 39-year-old burlesque artist tweeted. “Some photographer still had the audacity to tell me to ‘show some leg.’”
I really like this. And I love the hint of “under-boob” she has going on there.

#2. Dita Von Teese (again)

Dita Von Teese attended the launch of her fragrance Dita Von Teese in a green Herve L. Leroux dress at Liberty on Tuesday (May 1) in London, England.
She doesn’t look happy about her slip riding up or that the hemline of her gown was spoiled. But she looks stunning.

#1. Krysten Ritter

Krysten Ritter flashes a smile outside of the Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday (May 1) in New York City.
The 30-year-old actress is wearing a Z Spoke by Zac Posen dress, Jimmy Choo shoes and H.Stern jewels.
I love this. I love the colour of the dress on the colour of her skin. I love the skirt of her dress and how she wears it with confidence. And those shoes!! Extra points for the best shoes of the week too!

This week I have selected the top ten best dressed of the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Dinner which was held at the Washington Hilton on Saturday (April 28) in Washington, DC. The annual dinner was hosted by late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and attended by US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle.
The event started out as an opportunity for the press to mingle with the members of congress back in 1914 but has become a who’s who of the celebrity circuit in recent years with a lot of stars coming out to the prestigious black tie dinner.
Man of the Week: Ryan Kwanten

When did Jason Donovan hair come back in?
#10. Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin shows off her tiny baby bump in an Herve Leroux dress, YSL shoes, Loree Rodkin jewels, and a Judith Leiber clutch.
I do love this dress, but I’d love it even more if the lining went all the way to the hem.
#9. Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon toned down her baby bump in a slimming black Monique Lhuillier dress and added Irene Neuwirth jewellery.
#8. Irina Shayk

Supermodel Irina Shayk certainly pulls off this ivory pantsuit! I’m not totally in love with the gold chain embellishment but she looks amazing nevertheless.
#7. Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson wore a Jenny Packham dress and carried an Edie Parker bag. Now I feel like some chocolate.
#6. Zooey Deshanel

Zooey Deschanel wore a stunning Oscar de la Renta dress and Christian Louboutin shoes.
#5. Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron wore an Emilio Pucci dress, Manolo Blahnik shoes, and carried a Judith Leiber clutch.
STUNNING. Except for the obvious darts down the front and enormous zipper up the side. Surely they could have worked something out there?
#4. Sofia Vergara

Sofia Vergara wore a David Meister signature dress, Christian Louboutin heels, and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery.
#3. Leslie Mann

Leslie wore a stunning floral printed asymmetrical gown with a classic train to the event and carried a berry satin clutch.
#2. Elizabeth Banks

Elizabeth Banks looked absolutely stunning in a bright red peplum gown with perfectly matched lippie. One of my favourites for the night.
#1. Lindsay Lohan

I bet you are as surprised as I am that she got my Fave award for the week! I’m not sure what she’s done (or not done) but she looks so much healthier and, dare I say it, not quite as cheap as she usually does. And I adore her hair.

Man of the Week: Adam Levine

Adam Levine is covered in fake blood as he arrives on the set of Maroon 5‘s upcoming video “Payphone” on Thursday (April 19) in Los Angeles.
The 33-year-old singer and The Voice coach was seen making a phone call from a telephone booth after shooting a major car wreck scene.
Adam was also spotted filming a police chase with his female co-star before hopping into a classic Shelby Cobra sports car.
“Payphone” is the first single off Maroon 5‘s new album Overexposed, out June 26 in the US.
This man confuses me. I don’t know whether I find him attractive or hate him.
I do know that I hate his hair in these photos.

Mum of the Week: Alicia Silverstone

Alicia Silverstone carries her 11-month-old son Bear as she checks out the second day of the 2012 Coachella Music Festival‘s second weekend on Saturday (April 21) in Indio, California.
The 35-year-old actress used a pair of noise cancelling headphones to protect Bear‘s ears as they made their way around the festival.
Alicia was also joined by her husband of almost seven years, Christopher Jarecki.
She looks fantastic, you’d never guess she was a celeb, would you? Almost like one of us. I bet they were photographed just as they were arriving. I bet after 10 minutes she had bits of biscuit on her shirt and dribble in her hair and little Bear was getting his grump on because he wanted to get down and crawl about in the dirt.
I feel better now.

10: Kelly Osbourne

Kelly Osbourne supports the Kreiss home decor 75th anniversary celebration on Thursday (April 19) in Los Angeles.
Kelly paired her Mary Katrantzou dress with YSL shoes.
She makes me hate everything purple which makes me sad. I also want to take away her mascara and never give it back, ever.

9: Scarlet Johanssen

Scarlett Johansson and co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston hit the carpet at the premiere of their movie The Avengers on Tuesday (April 17) at Oktyabr Cinema in Moscow, Russia.
Scarlett is wearing a Nina Ricci dress with Giuseppe Zanotti heels, a J/Hadley ring and a Karma El Kahlil cuff.

8: Abbie Cornish

Abbie Cornish poses on the red carpet at the premiere of her new movie, The Girl, at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival on Friday (April 20) in New York City.
The 29-year-old actress looked lovely in a Roksanda Ilincic dress, DVF shoes, and Neil Lane jewels.
Okay, let’s try and break this down a bit…
I love the length, the colour, the fabric, her shoes, her makeup, her purse and jewellery.
I love that it’s not revealing too much of anything, and I love how it cinches her in at the waist, enhancing the shape of her bust.
But it looks too unfinished. The trims look like the edge of the fabric when you buy it off the roll and the bunching of the asymmetrical peplum kinda emphasises the “we’ve no time, just put it on and go!!” aspect of it.
Also, they could have taken out the rubbish before the premiere.
Oh, and I hate her hair.

7: Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez poses for a quick photo before heading into the studio for the American Idol elimination show on Thursday (April 19) in Los Angeles.
I love it. I love her top, her hair, her makeup and accessories. Love the colour of her pants and her contrasting belt. Her pants suit her, even if she did rip them off Gumby seconds before the images were taken.

6: Kim Cattrall

Kim Cattrall strikes a pose at the premiere of The Five-Year Engagement held at the Museum of Modern Art on Wednesday (April 18) in New York City.
Lovely to see her aging gracefully but still dressing with a bit of spunk.

5: Katy Perry

Katy Perry almost “does a Tara Reid” on the red carpet at the 2012 ASCAP Pop Music Awards held at the Renaissance Hotel on Wednesday (April 18) in Hollywood.
The 27-year-old entertainer, mostly in a Temperley London dress, was honoured with an award for her hit song “E.T.”.
Look, she looks great. But how out of it would you have to be to not notice something so obvious as the strap not just falling down, but pressing into your arm? Also, she has a scratch on her breast. Wonder what’s going on there?
Credit: B.Dowling; Photos: WENN
4: Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt looks beautiful at the premiere of her new flick, The Five-Year Engagement, on Wednesday (April 18) in NYC.
The movie, which also stars Jason Segel, kicked off the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival at the Ziegfeld Theater.
Emily is wearing a Jason Wu dress, Lorraine Schwartz and House of Lavande jewels, alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet shoes, and a Valentino purse.
Love the dress but she could have tried a bit harder to find matching shoes…

3: Elsa Pataky

Chris Hemsworth and his heavily pregnant wife Elsa Pataky arrive on the red carpet for The Avengers European premiere at the Vue Westfield on Thursday (April 19) in London, England.

2: Jennifer Lawrence

1: Camilla Belle

Camilla Belle strikes a pose in Jason Wu at the premiere of The Five-Year Engagement held at the Museum of Modern Art on Wednesday (April 18) in New York City.
The 25-year-old actress finished her look with a Jason Wu clutch, Sergio Rossi pumps, and David Yurman jewellery.
I love love love this too. I love how her dress emphasises her curves with the panelling and I love the keyhole bust. Yes you can see her bra, but at least she’s wearing one. Love it.

Fail of the Week: Leelee Sobieski

Leelee Sobieski showed up at the premiere of The Five-Year Engagement held at the Museum of Modern Art on Wednesday (April 18) in New York City in a The Row coat.
Look, I love the Golden Girls as much as anyone, but you should never get your fashion tips from them. She looks like she’s been rifling through Bea Arthur’s estate.

Best Dressed of the Logies 2012
10. Megan Gale

Megan’s Alex Perry gown bore a strong resemblance to the Valentino gown Julia Roberts donned for the Oscars in 2001, and was therefore destined to grace the Best Dressed lists after this year’s Logies. She certainly outshone fellow model/celebrity Jen Hawkins!
9. Ada Nicodemou

Home and Away actress and mum-to-be Ada Nicodemou walked the Logies red carpet tonight in a belly-friendly blue chiffon gown. Her deep V-necked frock was detailed with classic pleating around the bust and a petite but formal train.
8. Magdalena Roze

Channel 10 Breakfast weather presenter Magdalena Roze got it spot on in a breathtaking black sequined backless Ae'lkemi gown.
7. Delta Goodrem

Delta Goodrem hit the red carpet in true goddess style in a stunning Grecian inspired Ralph Lauren dress. Everyone is still talking about her latest project The Voice and the stars it is introducing to us all. Anyone out there still not seen Rachael Leahcar’s audition?
6. Lauren Phillips

Seasoned red carpet performer Lauren Phillips sported a sultry and sexy silver sequined gown by Jayson Brunsdon.
5. Asher Keddie

Offspring star Asher Keddie stayed loyal to Melbourne design duo J'Aton, wearing an intricately detailed cut-work lace and applique gown with bright yellow accents. Asher kept her accessories to a minimum.
4. Esther Anderson

Esther Anderson walked the red carpet in a stunning white Alex Perry gown. The former Home and Away actress was nominated for the Gold Logie and most popular actress.
3. Carrie Bickmore

Carrie Bickmore stepped onto the Logies red carpet in a red Bowie gown. The Project co-host was nominated for the coveted Gold Logie but lost out to the gorgeously hilarious Hamish Blake. I’m loving the gold belt and floaty skirt, just stunning.
2. Sonia Kruger

Manning Cartell is the local label responsible for Sonia Kruger's gorgeous Logies gown, perfectly balancing modern elegance and red carpet glamour. The racer-neckline and streamlined skirt is figure-flattering in a slightly athletic way, whilst the on-trend peplum and moulded-metal belt ensures it's still appropriate for TV's night-of-nights.
1. Kate Ritchie

Kate Ritchie opted for a midnight blue gown by Steven Khalil for her entrance on the red carpet. The conservative hue was given a dose of serious glamour in all-over sequins. By far the most popular look of the night!
Worst Dressed of the Logies 2012
10. Rebecca Judd

Number One footballer's WAG and David Jones racing ambassador normally does a LOT better than this on the red carpet. But at the Logies, she looked like she was wearing a shredded doona. I’m still not entirely sure why she was there…
9. Chrissie Swan

I love Chrissie Swan. She’s a gorgeous woman inside and out. But every woman over “that certain dress size” knows not to wear satin all over. Yes, it skims over the curves beautifully, but the lustre gives her a rounder look than she would have liked, I’m sure. Gorgeous, but no.
8. Lauryn Eagle

Celebrity Apprentice star Lauryn Eagle turned heads in her sheer J'Aton creation, which flashed more than a little flesh-toned underwear when photographed. The lace panel across the bust looks like an afterthought, and the fringed train was just all too much.
7. Susie Elelman

If there’s one thing Susie Elelman knows how to do, it’s to get the girls out and draw some attention.
Still, it’s better than she’s looked in recent years…

6. Giaan Rooney

I’m not sure when turning up looking like a bedspread started to become fashionable, but at least Giaan Rooney picked a lovely one. Her Helen Manuell couture gown looks like it’s ticking all the right boxes but on closer inspection it’s a bit of shocker, really.
5. Lisa Wilkinson

From her bright green awkwardly tiered gown to her ponytail and sweatmarks, the usually stunning Lisa Wilkinson could have used a little more polish. It’s an interesting look, but not for a red carpet.
4. Livinia Nixon

Livinia wore a maroon sateen corset with weird hanging down bits of material tied up with bunched shoulder rosettes. And then suddenly, a straight heavy-fabric black skirt. What? Black tie gone bad.
3. Natalie Gruzlewski

Fashionistas were loving this thing worn by the Farmer Wants A Wife presenter, but noooooooooo. All fussy and frilly with a weird V-shaped bodice. The little skirt thing is on-trend, but all in all this is not a good look.
2. Kat Stewart

Kat Stewart looks all kinds of wrong in this J’Aton gown. I mean, she looks fabulous for a new mum (baby Archie is 3 months old), but that doesn’t excuse weird hemlines and cone-shaped hair-dos. It’s an “eeeuuuuuggghhhhhhhhhh” from me.
1. Yumi Stynes

And the award for the most inappropriate gown for the evening goes to Yumi Stynes for her dreadfully unflattering mullet dress and bright orange tan. I don’t think I’ve seen someone fail this badly for quite some time.
And the best dressed Aussie bloke of the night? Jamie Durie of course!!

9: Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie arrives at the premiere of In the Land of Blood and Honey on Thursday (February 16) in Paris, France.
The 36-year-old actress stepped out in a Ralph & Russo dress with Lorraine Schwartz earrings and Jimmy Choo shoes.
I kinda like this, although if I were to wear it, I'd find bits of raspberry martini and potato wedges in the folds at the top later. Also, I'd look happier.

8: Christina Ricci

Christina Ricci hits the red carpet at the Elle Style Awards, held at the Savoy Hotel on Monday (February 13) in London, England.

The 24-year-old English model and Transformers actress sparkled in an Antonio Berardi dress, Sergio Rossi shoes, Irene Neuwirth earrings, and an Edie Parker clutch.
I don't know about you, but I believe that every dress should come with a super-hero cape attached so you can make your appearance and then stalk off pompously.

6: Ashlee Simpson

Definitely my choice for Look of the Week. I am not keen on the way the bust sits, but the colour! The shoes! The split! The leg! The back!
Incredible!

2. Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj channels Little Red Riding Hood and walks the red carpet with “The Pope” at the 2012 Grammy Awards held at Staples Center on Sunday (February 12) in Los Angeles.

The 36-year-old Black Eyed Peas frontwoman wore an orange sheer Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture gown and Neil Lane jewels. She finished off her look with Walter Steiger pumps and a Judith Leiber clutch.
Words can not convey the feelings I have looking at this disaster.
And just for amusement value…
It’s all well and good to wear a shockfrock or something a little more avant garde than an elaborate Vivienne Westwood number, but what happens when you have to take your seat to watch the ceremony? Bahahahhaaa!!!
